Brokerage credentials -- Alpaca API keys (encrypted at rest) for connecting your paper or live trading account
Trading data -- portfolio snapshots, positions, orders, and strategy configurations generated through your use of the platform
Usage data -- page views, feature interactions, and session duration for improving the platform

2. How We Use Your Information

Execute and manage automated trading strategies on your behalf
Generate AI-powered market briefings and trading signals
Display portfolio analytics and performance metrics
Send notifications about trades, alerts, and system events
Improve and optimize the platform

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure (Neon PostgreSQL, Vercel). Brokerage API keys are stored encrypted. We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS encryption, JWT-based authentication, and bcrypt password hashing. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate SmartSwing:

Alpaca Markets -- brokerage execution and market data
Anthropic (Claude AI) -- AI-powered market analysis and chat
Google (Gemini) -- trade reasoning and validation
Vercel -- application hosting
Neon -- database hosting

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can update your profile information through the Settings page. For account deletion, contact support.
